The smugglers path
on the Cami de Ronda, Costa Brava
Here is a walking trail that skirts the Costa Brava, and delivers a challenging escape from the crowds. Allow two days for the linear trail between Sant Feliu de Guixols to the south and Begur (43 kms). The further north you walk the wilder the trail becomes. You will appreciate why they named the coast ‘Brava’ (wild). Ronda means ‘patrol’ and references an area that the Carabiñeros (border police) used to patrol in search of smugglers!
